Wajdan E Mohabbat Episode 9 (Urdu: وجدانِ محبت – قسط ۹) by Pakeeza Tayyaba brings danger into Aqib’s married life in this Urdu family romance. Someone has been phoning his wife Aina for days, threatening to kill her unless she leaves.

The episode opens with Aqib walking into the lounge and asking his father, Shahid Sahib, for his phone – he needs to make a call and can’t get through from his own number. His father, surprised by the urgency, asks who he wants to call, and his mother Shafaq Begum tells him to eat first since he’s just come back tired from the office. Aqib answers that this isn’t something he can sit calmly over: someone is threatening his wife, threatening to take her life, and he can’t just “not take tension”. He takes the phone and walks off angrily.

When Shahid Sahib asks what’s going on, Shafaq Begum explains that for the past few days someone has been calling Aina and threatening her – leave this house or we’ll kill you. Who would do that to a girl who lived alone before her marriage? Is it someone who knew her? Aqib returns and reports that the number is switched off, and from the voice it isn’t even clear whether it was a man or a woman. He suspects it’s only intimidation – people who mean real harm don’t announce it – but he can’t be sure. His father tells him to go and rest – he will look into it himself. Three days pass with no further calls, yet the tension doesn’t leave the house, and the strange way Shafaq Begum looks at Aina makes Aina feel as if she herself is to blame.

Aina, meanwhile, is quietly frightened that Aqib might misunderstand something about her. At dinner he comes to her, puts a gentle hand on her shoulder and tries to reassure her: a person’s account is with Allah; those who bark rarely bite; and she shouldn’t burden her mind like this. Seeing his concern, all of her worries seem to melt away for a moment.

This episode raises the suspense around the mystery that leads into Episode 10, while showing how deeply Aqib cares for his wife.
