About this novel
Mera Ghar by Soban Ali is a short Urdu horror novel about a group of friends, a forbidden shortcut through a forest and a churail in a bridal dress. Read it online or download the complete PDF free on Crazy Fans of Novels.
The story opens at its scariest point. The narrator, Naeem, is alone in a house, shouting for help, when a churail dressed as a bride walks towards him. Terrified, he begs her to let him go. What has he ever done to her? “Tumhari maut chahiye,” she answers in a horrifying voice, and he faints.
Then we go back a few hours. Naeem and his friends had set out on a trip together in one van. It was night, a forest was close by, strong winds were blowing and lightning cracked across the sky, building a strange fear inside him. On the way, he noticed a danger sign board that had been placed before the entrance to the forest. The road it pointed to was a shortcut that would get them to their destination quickly, while the other road was much longer.
Soban Ali introduces the passengers. Aisha and Zubair sit in front. Jamila and Asad are behind them, and Naeem and Rabia sit at the back. Zubair is driving. When he sees “shortcut” written on the board, he turns towards it. Naeem looks closer and sees that the board actually forbids going that way. “Yaar Zubair, tum ne board nahin parha? Is raaste se jaana mana hai,” he warns. Aisha laughs that it’s probably just an old board, Asad mocks him for being scared, and Jamila complains that he is spoiling the fun. Zubair angrily tells everyone to sit quietly or get out. The van drives deep into the forest, and then suddenly, in the middle of the night, everything goes wrong. It is a classic setup that horror fans will enjoy.
جس راستے سے منع کیا جائے، اکثر وہی سب سے خوفناک ثابت ہوتا ہے۔
