About this novel
Khilari by Muhammad Waseem is an action and suspense Urdu novel about power, politics and a deadly game in which everyone is a player. Read it online or download the complete PDF free on Crazy Fans of Novels.
The novel opens with the writer’s own idea of life: “Zindagi ek khel hai aur hum sab khilari.” As long as we are alive, we have to keep playing, whatever the price, until our last breath. Sometimes we play because we want to, and sometimes because we have no choice, and the real khilari is the one who keeps playing with patience. Muhammad Waseem promises a story about a player like that, with plenty of action and suspense, a little drama and some light humour too.
Then we enter a village where it is only six in the evening, yet an eerie silence has fallen. Even the dogs are not barking. Only yesterday the streets were full of children playing and elders chatting, but today everyone has locked themselves inside, because this morning MNA Amjad Khan’s two sons were murdered.
Amjad Khan is a very big name in national politics and in the whole area, and his name alone is enough to frighten people. No one has ever dared to challenge him, and his land stretches as far as the eye can see. He has three sons: Baqir, the eldest, Shakir in the middle, and Babar, the youngest. Around midday, as the three brothers were returning home, unknown gunmen opened fire on their car. Baqir and Shakir died on the spot, and Babar was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
No one knows who did it or why, or whether it was an old enmity. Every news channel in Pakistan is running the breaking news, every newspaper carries the headline, and everyone, friend or rival party, is expressing sorrow. From this explosive opening, Khilari sets up a mystery about who is really playing this game, and who will win it.
زندگی ایک کھیل ہے، اور جیتتا وہی ہے جو آخری چال تک صبر سے کھیلے۔
