Mera Yaar Bedardi (Urdu: میرا یار بے دردی, “my heartless beloved”) is a romantic Urdu novel by Iqra Sheikh, about 400 pages long. It opens with two cars tearing down a road in a street race. A black BMW crosses the finishing line first, and the man behind the wheel smiles like someone who knew all along that nobody could beat him.

That man is Zarkhan, who has never learned how to lose, whether in a race or in business. The crowd chants his name as he walks over to his furious rival Faisal, straightens his jacket collar and tells him to stop trying, because he will only keep losing. Faisal swears that one day he will prove him wrong.
