Kaanch Ki Churiyaan By Zoya Choudhry

About this novel

Kaanch ki Churiyaan (Urdu: کانچ کی چوڑیاں, “glass bangles”) is a long Urdu novel by Zoya Choudhry, over 900 pages in this PDF. It opens at the breaking point of a four-year marriage. Her husband coldly tells her he is marrying again, and soon. He says he held off until now only for the sake of their little daughter, his “princess” Nainan, that she can stay or go as she likes, and that he has no need of her.

In tears, she answers that in four years he has never once believed in her love or her loyalty, and that his indifference has left her like a handful of bright glass bangles smashed to pieces. The novel takes its title from that image, and the story unfolds from that moment.
