Aisa Kahan Se Laein Tum Sa Kahein Jise by Faizan Ahmed is a fun, romantic Urdu university novel about three best friends. One of them is a flirt who has never taken love seriously, until he meets someone he simply cannot ignore.

The story opens in a university cafeteria after class. “Yaar, Sir Ishfaq ne aaj to bohat hi tough assignment de diya hai,” Kashif groans, holding his head. He is sure he won’t finish it in two days. Javed gives him one look and goes straight back to his samosas, eating at the speed of light, while Rohan is lost in his mobile. Kashif, Rohan and Javed are best friends from well-off families, and Faizan Ahmed has fun with their personalities.

Javed’s appetite is legendary. When Kashif asks how he can eat so much under stress, Javed explains that tension only makes him hungrier, and Kashif teases that he is always hungry anyway. Rohan is the most handsome and stylish of the three, always surrounded by girls, and his fingers never stop moving on his phone. “Yaar, tu har waqt mobile mein lagga rehta hai, aaj kaunsi larki mil gayi?” Kashif asks. Rohan laughs that he leaves girls before they can leave him, and when Kashif warns that one day he will meet the right one and be caught in love, Rohan just laughs.

So Kashif plays his trump card and mentions the new girl he saw talking to Sir Asghar outside class: “kamal ki haseen larki.” Rohan immediately looks up from his phone. Javed teases him that he forgot his phone the moment he heard about a girl, but Rohan only wants to know who she is. She has come from Lahore after a migration, Kashif says, and Rohan’s mind starts racing, until a girl in a white dress with long black hair and big eyes walks into the cafeteria. From this light, playful beginning, the novel is clearly heading towards a love that will humble its hero.
