About this novel

Masoom Muhabbat by Haya Sheikh is an emotional Urdu novel about a university girl, a harsh marriage and a love that has not yet shown its true face. Read it online or download the complete PDF free on Crazy Fans of Novels.

The novel opens at university, where Abrish’s friends are worried about her. Ali teases her about the strict new lecturer everyone is afraid of, the one who threw him out of class last week. But at home, Abrish’s life is very different. Her husband treats her coldly and cruelly, and she lives in constant fear of him. Haya Sheikh does not hide how painful this marriage is.

The story then moves between her present and her past. Abrish is the younger daughter of Mansoor Sahab; her sister Rabail is three years older. Abrish loves reading novels, which she says teach her to live happily even with sorrow, and her brother Yawar teases her about it. Then, one university morning, she walks into class late and the new lecturer refuses to let her in: “No, Miss Abrish, you are a late comer… I said get out.” He calls her irresponsible in front of everyone, and Abrish is close to tears from embarrassment.

That lecturer, it slowly becomes clear, is Tabraiz, the man she is now married to. How did this begin, and why is a girl who believed so much in love living in so much pain? The novel promises to show how a masoom muhabbat survives a marriage built on anger and misunderstanding.

It is a heavy read in places, as it shows a husband’s harsh behaviour and its impact on a young wife. Readers who enjoy dramatic, emotional stories about marriage, patience and change will find plenty here.

سچی محبت دکھ کے اندھیروں میں بھی امید کا دیا جلائے رکھتی ہے۔
