Azamat or Bulandi Waly Rab (Urdu: اس عظمت و بلندی والے رب کی عبادت کریں) by Zukhruf bint-e-Nadeem Attariya is a short Islamic essay about the greatness of the Creator. It invites the reader to look at the world around them, and the writer, a student of Jamia-tul-Madina, writes it as a heartfelt reminder.

It starts with everyday observations. Every day people come into this world and others leave it. Millions sit at home, many lie ill in hospitals, many more are busy with work and trade, and yet the world keeps growing. Then she asks us to look up at the beautiful blue sky over all our heads, and down at the earth and everything on it: animals, birds, mountains, rivers, seas and the countless creatures in them. Each one, she writes, is a sign of Allah’s qudrat. Every flower comes in its own colour, and every fruit has its own taste.

زمین و آسمان کی ہر چیز اللہ کو سجدہ کرتی ہے۔

The essay draws on verses of the Quran, quoted in Arabic with Urdu translation, to show that everything in the heavens and the earth bows to Allah: the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees and the animals. If all of creation glorifies its Lord, she asks, how much more should human beings, for whom all of it was made, bow before Him with humility and spend their lives in His ibadat?

It’s a quick, sincere read of about ten pages, good for a quiet moment of reflection, and especially suited to young readers and anyone looking for simple Urdu writing on faith and gratitude.
